Redefining Health After Loss – One Bite at a Time

Losing my dad to cancer in 2023 changed my world in ways I’m still uncovering. One of the biggest shifts was my relationship with food. As I learned more about the links between ultra-processed foods and chronic illness, I started to rethink what I was fuelling my body with — not from a place of fear, but from a place of love.

Love for myself.
Love for my family.
Love for the life I still want to live – joyfully, purposefully, and fully.

Don’t get me wrong – I love chocolate (I could easily polish off a whole family block in one sitting 😅). But now, I’m trying to limit my risk factors while still enjoying the little things. I’ve made it my mission to discover healthier, delicious alternatives that don’t compromise on taste or joy.

This space is for anyone who wants to feel better without the overwhelm. It’s where simple swaps, gentle movement and self-love come together. I will be sharing my all time favourite chocolate avocado mousse recipe that I perfected after many failed, gooey attempts in the kitchen, with you. You will not even taste the avocado in it, and it is toddler approved as well!

Why This Recipe?

It was that time of the month again, the dreaded luteal phase – where I was constantly craving chocolates. There was a documentary that aired stating how chocolates, chips and lollies are ultra-processed, which increases your risk of cancer with increased consumption. Being a huge chocolate addict, I was worried…. But found it hard to stop, because I did not know of a healthier alternative.

Until I researched and found the benefits of cacao powder, vs cocoa powder, and how to actually transform it into something that tastes sinfully delicious, minus the sin. Because eating well doesn’t have to mean giving up on the flavours you love.

One day, avocados were on sale (they never were on sale but
This mousse is packed with healthy plant fats, antioxidants and natural sweetness – no ultra-processed additives, no guilt.

Just pure, feel-good food ❤️

Let’s keep walking this path to wellness together – one simple swap, one joyful movement, and one chocolatey spoonful at a time!

With love,
